I make birthday cards for young women at church between the ages of eleven and eighteen. This month there were two birthdays, both of the girls favorite colors were purple. For Becca, she also likes blue, so that is the colors I used to color her clothes.
Becca is a lovely girl with beautiful olive skin and long dark hair. I searched for an image that would be similar to her. I pulled it into the Silhouette Cameo software and printed it with a laser printer using registration marks. A laser printer is alcohol ink safe. An ink jet printer will cause the lines to bleed when coloring. With the registration marks the software was able to cut out the image.
A panel of purple cardstock was cut down with A2 rectangle die and adhered to a white cardbase with dotliner adhesive. A decorative rectangle was cut from white cardstock and ink blended using the Altenew Feeling Dotty Stencil. It was adhered to the purple rectangle with dotliner adhesive.
Purple polka dots were added to the image's headband. A low loft foam tape was added to the back of the image, which was adhered to the stenciled background. A small purple flower was pulled from my stash and used to decorate the headband. Blue rhinestones were added to the dress, the center of the flower, and scattered around the image.
The sentiment was pulled from a stash of hot foil sentiments I have on hand. It was adhered with foam adhesive below the image.
