I pulled out a thank you card to send to someone and was reminded how beautiful this image is from Simon Says Stamp. So, I decided to create another card using it.
I stamped it with Memento London Fog and colored it with Copic Markers. At first I had a couple of yellow flowers, but I just didn't like the blend of the color combination, so I used the colorless blender to remove most of the yellow and then colored them again with pink. I'll post both so you can decide which you like best.
Once the coloring was completed the image was stamped again with VersaMark Ink and then heat embossed gold. It was then cut out with the coordinating die. The die was used to cut some sticky back foam, which was adhered to the back of the image for dimension.
Whenever I've used this stamp before I've created a landscape card, but today I decided to create a portrait orientation. I laid the image on the cardbase to determine where to stamp the sentiment, which is from the same stamp set. It too was stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed gold.
I dry embossed the front of an A2 cardbase with the Stampin' Up 3D Subtle Embossing Folder. This gives a beautiful linen look to the cardstock. If you stamp your sentiment first, you can still use the embossing folder and it doesn't mar the stamping. The image was adhered to the cardbase by removing the backing paper on the foam. Anything that was hanging over the edges were cut off with scissors.
The last embellishment was to scatter some gold confetti around the flower and the card was done.
