My cousin, who I spend every summer with when growing up married a wonderful man named Roger King. While we were in college we had a once a week date night and became great friends. Unfortunately we lived in different parts of the country and lot track of one another over the years, except for Christmas cards and family funerals.
Merri Ann is a wonderful nurse. She and her husband were sitting on the couch talking when suddenly he collapsed and was gone within minutes. None of really know how much time we have here on earth. Knowing The Plan of Salvation and that families are forever and we will be with our loved ones again if we strive to follow the Savior brings great peace in such difficult circumstances.
When creating sympathy cards I often reach for Simon Says Stamp's Beautiful Flowers. The image is gorgeous and can be colored with Copic Markers. I first stamped the image on a half sheet of Hammermill Premium Color 100# White Cardstock with a light ink and colored the image. After the color was complete it was stamped again with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed gold. The image was cut out using the coordinating die and foam tape was added to the back.
The sentiment was cut from Simon Says Stamp Pearl Gold Mirror Cardstock. I love the subtle shine of this mirror cardstock. The flower arrangement and sentiment were laid on a mini slimline card to determine were to stamp the secondary greeting with VersaMark Ink and heat emboss it gold. The front of the card was then dry embossed with the Stampin' Up Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, which adds a beautiful linen look. The die cut sentiment was adhered with liquid glue and the flower were adhered by removing the backing paper.
