Often times, when I am in need of birthday cards I go to my pile of birthday themed dies and pull out the stash and start creating cards. This card uses the Spellbinders Sweet Street Cookie Corner Dies. Sadly they are no longer available. But I have seen other cookie dies out there.
There are several different cookies that can be made from these dies. I created an Oreo, chocolate chip, and frosted sugar cookie for this card. I cut the elements from scraps of cardstock and ink blended the edges to add dimension and depth. Everything was adhered together with liquid glue.
Tina Smith of Cards and Coffee Time is one of my favorite designers and she created these dies for Spellbinders When she demonstrated them she created a plate by using two different circle dies. I did the same for this card. You want the inside of the plate to be lower, so use two dies to create the lip of the plate. They were adhered together with liquid glue. The cookies were adhered to the plate with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape.
I went through my stash of 6x6 cardstock and pulled out this pretty plaid to create a tablecloth for my plate and cookies to sit on. It was cut down with a square die. I also used this Ellen Hutson Essential Square die to cut a thin navy frame.
I didn't have a word die that was the right size for my card, so I cut one in the Silhouette Cameo from navy cardstock three times and adhered the layers together with liquid glue.
I found a sea foam blue that matched the plaid cardstock and cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" panel. I laid the tablecloth and die cut sentiment on the panel to determine were to stamp the secondary sentiment. I wanted to nestle it into the space to the right of the word, so I performed some stamp surgery so I could stack the words. It was then dry embossed to add some visual interest to the card. It was then adhered to a top folding cardbase.
The tablecloth and cookie plate were adhered on an angle with liquid glue. The cut sentiment was adhered below and the card was done.
