This is the second card I made using the new Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers Coneflower. When you look up coneflower images on the interest there are so many beautiful colors, one of which is a soft pink. That is the color I chose to use for this card.

This time I cut the elements of the card and leaves using colored paper. I used a frosty pink for the flower petals, a soft beige for the center, and a mint green for the leaves and stem, then depth and shadows were added with Copic Markers.

To assemble the card I cut down the leaves so they would be smaller. The leaf dies are quite large and for one flower I thought they were a little overwhelming so I trimmed them down with scissors.

This time I did not use foam tape to adhere the layers of the petals. I fluffed the petals with my fingers and adhered each layer with liquid glue on the flower centers only. I think they look almost and dimensional as the previous card using foam tape.

I decided to use a pierced scalloped oval for the background behind the flower. The stems and leaves were adhered in place with liquid glue and the flower was adhered using the same glue. I cut an oval from sticky back foam tape and trimmed it down to be just smaller than the scalloped oval.

I dry embossed the front of an A2 cardbase with the Stampin' Up Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, but when I went to place the oval focal image it just blended too much together with the soft color of the flower. I decided to add a little more depth to the flower centers with the next darkest pink Copic Marker. This helped a lot, but it still needed something more to help it pop on the card. I decided to cut a stitched rectangle from the frosty pink cardstock used for the flower petals and dry embossed it as well. It was adhered to the front of the cardbase with dotliner adhesive and the focal image oval was adhered in place with liquid glue.

The sentiment was stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and cut using the matching die. It was adhered over the stem of the flower with liquid glue.

The final embellishment was to add Nuvo Crystal Drops to the flower center. This time I used the lighter Dirty Bronze since the center of the flower was a lighter hue.
