My older brother has a birthday next week. He loves the color red, just like me. My husband helped me to identify the type of cars were in Honey Bee Stamps Car Show stamp set. This is a Chevy Chevelle. When I looked up images online I saw a red and black one, which would be perfect for my brother, who will always be older than me.
The images was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black in and colored with Copic Markers. When the coloring was complete it was cut out using the coordinating die.
I wanted some visual interest behind the car, so I cut down a rectangle of black cardstock and cut it down with a stitched rectangle. pulled out the Sizzix Woven 3D Embossing Folder and used it with black cardstock. I ran Brilliance Platinum Ink over the raised surface and then heat embossed it clear, since I would take a long time for pigment ink to dry. Low loft foam tape was added to the back of the black panel and the car.
I recently purchased Honey Bee Stamp's Take a Ride and stamped one of the sentiments with red ink and cut it out with the coordinating die. Foam tape was added behind the sentiment as well.
When I went to assemble the card I felt like it needed a little more red to accentuate the car, so a panel of red cardstock was cut and adhered to a side folding cardbase with dotliner adhesive. The car was adhered to the embossed black panel, along with the sentiment and the panel was then adhered to the card base by removing the backing paper on the foam tape.
