Blue Star Tulips for Aimee

It's hard to believe but my oldest daughter turned fifty yesterday. She is an amazing woman. I remember when they placed our beautiful little girl into my arms. My heart was filled with so much love, and it has only grown through the years. Happy Birthday my wonderful daughter.

Aimee's favorite colors are blue and sage green. One thing I love about card making is you can make any flower die the color you want. I pulled out the Altenew Pink Star Tulip dies and cut them from blue and sage green cardstock. The centers of the petals and edges and tips of the leaves were ink blended to add dimension. The layers of the flower were adhered together with liquid glue. I decided to pull out a stamen from another die, cut it from gold mirror cardstock, and added it to the center of the flowers.

I had some gray and white polka-dot paper sitting on my desk and cut it down using an oval die. I then used the same oval die and one two sizes smaller to create a frame. They were adhered together with liquid glue and foam tape was added to the back. The front of a white A2 cardbase was dry embossed with a swiss dot folder and the oval frame was adhered in place with liquid glue.

The leaves and flowers were adhered in plac with liquid glue. The sentiment had been previously hot foiled and was adhered witha combination of liquid glue and foam tape.

The final embellishment was to add some white half pearls around the flowers.
