Blue Star Tulip Happy Birthday

One of the things I love about making cards is that we can choose any color we want for flowers. Pretty sure a star tulip doesn't come in blue, but that's my sister's favorite color and this card is for her. It turned out beautiful.

I started with white cardstock and cut all the layers of the flowers and the leaves and then ink blended the color to get the shading that I wanted. I've learned that the flowers really pop if you use a little dark color at the base of the petals.

The layers were adhered together with liquid glue. There are so many layers that there is beautiful dimension to the flowers.

I decided to frame the flowers with a navy blue frame. It really draws the eye to the flowers. It was adhered to a top folding white cardbase with foam strips. The flowers were then adhered in place with foam tape as well and the leaves were tucked into place and adhered with liquid glue.

The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of navy blue cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed white. It was cut down with the coordinating die and adhered below the flowers with foam tape.

A few opal gems were scattered around the flowers and the card was done.
