I have a sister who has a birthday next week. Her favorite color is light blue. I decided to pull out some hot foil flower dies. I'm not sure if I have used these pretty flowers from Pink Fresh Studio before, but they turned out lovely.
I hot foiled the flowers and leaves with silver hot foil, colored them with Copic Markers, and then cut them out with the coordinating dies.
I arranged the flowers the way I liked them on my desk top, but the bouquet was just missing something, so I pulled out some hot foil foliage dies, foiled them with silver, and cut them out. I colored them with Copic Markers as well and added a few to the top of the flower bouquet. It was just what it needed.
While I was foiling the flowers and leaves I also foiled a couple of sentiments with silver foil. They were cut with a sentiment strip die. For this card I decided to use the simple "Happy Birthday" sentiment.
I always like to have some visual interest behind my flowers. I decided to use the love Pink Fresh Studio Braided Oval Die. I used Glad Press 'n Seal to keep the arrangement together, which allows you to turn it over and place glue where it is needed. You can do it in layers and still keep the arrangement in place. I decided to pop up the top flower with low loft foam tape.
To add even more visual interest to the card the front of the cardbase was dry embossed with an embossing folder that gives a lovely linen look. Foam tape was added to the back of the oval and then it was adhered in place by removing the backing paper on the foam. I like to use a little liquid glue on the foam tape to allow a little wiggle room to line up the die cut perfectly.
The low loft foam tape was added to the back of the sentiment strip and it was adhered in place. The final embellishment was to scatter a few Rainbow Reflection rhinestones and the card was done.
