Birthday Candles Shaker Make a Wish

cardtheraphy51

I had the blue glitter cardstock sitting on my desk from the previous card and decide to create a shaker card. I really like the Birthday Candles die from Simon Says Stamp, but it just cuts the candles from the center of the card. I wanted to have a frame around the candles and used a circle die to create one.

Once the candles were cut I cut a circle of acetate using the just smaller circle die and adhered it to the back of the candle frame. I cut it again from white cardstock to add to the back once the shaker pieces were added. I find this makes it much easier and less messy to create a shaker card.

I pulled out the 1/8" Waffle Flower Foam Strips to create the well for the shaker and added blue seed beads and then adhered the die cut circle by removing the backing paper on the foam strips.

The sentiment was cut from the same glitter cardstock and another four times from white. Each was adhered together with liquid glue.

The front of an A2 cardbase was dry embossed using the Cuttlebug Oxford Embossing Folder and the shaker and sentiment were adhered in place with liquid glue.
