I have friends who just moved from out neighborhood to one with a view a few streets up. A lot of people helped them with their move, and one of their new neighbors brought over some cookies. Arlene wanted to send out thank you cards and asked if I could make some for her. Typically, I don't make cards for others. With the cards I do for Meals on Wheels and a local retirement center, people in the ward 55 and older, and my family, I just don't have time. We talked about her coming over so I could show her how to create them herself, but she didn't feel she had the time right now with moving and trying to get organized in their new home. So, I told her I would make her a few cards. The easiest way to make cards that don't take too much time is do repeat stamping and layouts. I decided to use a layering stamp from Altenew.
I followed the instructions from Jennifer McGuire. I cut all the images first from white cardstock, keeping one of the panels with the negative openings. You align the stamp in the opening and pick it up with the MISTI. Then you simply place the die in the negative space and stamp one of the layers as many times as needed and then move on to the next layer, repeating the process. I decided to do five different colors, with two cards of each color. The smaller flower spray did not have layered stamping, so it was colored with Copic Markers.
Once the stamping was complete Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops where added to the stamen of the large flower and the centers of the small flower sprig. Since I was only using one flower, leaf, and sprig for each card I wanted to have a smaller panel to adhered the element to. I cut a rectangle using the second largest stitched scalloped rectangle from Gina Marie Designs. The sentiment was stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I then dry embossed the panel with Stampin' Up's Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.
The leaves and flower sprig were adhered in place with liquid glue. A small square of sticky back foam was added to the back of the large flower adding dimension to the layout. It was adhered with liquid glue. The scalloped rectangle was then adhered to a side folding A2 white cardbase with dotliner adhesive and the card was done.
