Alcohol Ink Golden Leaves Celebrating You

When I create an alcohol in background I used a half sheet of glossy photo paper. The Kirkland brand works great. You use the backside of the paper to add the inks.

I had some leftover yellow, orange, red, and green background that I could cut out a smaller rectangle using a stitched rectangle die. When I'm using these beautiful backgrounds I don't want the focal image to cover up too much. So, for this card I pulled out some open leaves from the Altenew Leaf Mix die set adhered them with liquid glue to the alcohol ink background. They blended in so well with the background they were hard to see, so I and cut them two more times from mirror cardstock and adhered them together by running them through my Xyron Stickler Maker. I'm not sure that was the best solution, maybe because of the nature of mirror cardstock, but it took quite a bit of work to remove excess adhesive.

For the sentiment I kept it small and simple and stamped a tiny words sentiment onto some matching yellow green cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it gold. It was cut down using a Pink & Main Sentiment Strip and adhered over the bottom of the leaves with foam tape, leaving an opening in the center so that there wasn't additional dimension over the leaves.

I decided to use ivory cardstock for the card base, but I didn't like the way the focal image alcohol in background looked. There was a lot of margin around it it looked a little unfinished. So, I pulled out an embossing folder to add texture to the front of the cardbase. The alcohol ink panel was adhered to the front with liquid glue.

I liked the way it turned out, but it reminds me of fall leaves, so I'll hold on to it for a fall birthday.
