Alcohol Ink Birthday Wishes Balloons

I pulled out my alcohol inks the other day and made a lot of background. I always love the vibrancy of these inks. I am frugal where I can be and don't use the expensive Yupo Paper, instead I use the backside of Kirkland's Glossy Photo Paper, it works wonderfully. I am not going to list the exact colors of alcohol inks I used, because I don't want to discourage you from using what you have. It doesn't matter what purple or blue or green you use. The only drawback about creating these backgrounds is that they are so beautiful you don't want to cover them up. I've tried to use them in unique ways.

I think this card uses my favorite background. I used some deep magenta reds and blues, along with the gilded alloy alcohol inks. Where the blue and red blended you would have purple. So lovely.

I decided to die cut the elements for this card from the alcohol ink background. First, I cut three balloons using the stitched balloon dies from Birch Press Designs. I also die cut the sentiment word "birthday" from the alcohol ink background. There were glued together with liquid glue and 3M 1/2" Foam Tape was added to the back. Gold Metallic Trim was used for the strings. The word die was also cut from sticky back foam and the two where adhered together by removing the backing paper.

I wanted some visual interest behind the balloons and decided to emboss the Confetti Panel Die from Birch Press Designs onto a quarter sheet of Neenah Classic Crest 80# Solar White Cardstock. It was just what I was looking for. The balloons were adhered to the card by removing the backing paper on the foam and the strings were pulled to the back of the confetti panel and adhered with Scotch Tape.

I laid the die cut word onto the panel to determine where to stamp the secondary sentiment with VersaMark Ink and heat emboss it gold. The word was then adhered in place with liquid glue. The panel was then adhered to a top folding A2 cardbase with dotliner adhesive and the card was done.
