I pulled out my alcohol inks the other day and made a lot of background. I always love the vibrancy of these inks. I am frugal where I can be and don't use the expensive Yupo Paper, instead I use the backside of Kirkland's Glossy Photo Paper, it works wonderfully. I am not going to list the exact colors of alcohol inks I used, because I don't want to discourage you from using what you have. It doesn't matter what purple or blue or green you use. The only drawback about creating these backgrounds is that they are so beautiful you don't want to cover them up. I've tried to use them in unique ways.
This background uses Orange, Green, and Yellow alcohol inks. When the green and orange blend it creates a little bit of brown. I really like the way it turned out. I wanted the size to be slightly larger than the sentiment. I decided to cut down the background using the second largest Memory Box Matinee Rectangle. Love the corners on this die.
I rummaged through my paper scraps and found a lime green cardstock that matched the green in the background. My Favorite Things' You Take the Cake was die cut from it, along with some green sticky back foam. The two were adhered together by removing the paper backing on the foam.
Once the die cutting was done I cut down the negative of the sentiment panel to be even on all sides and laid it on the alcohol inked background, taping it in place with low tack tape. This allowed me to add liquid glue to the back of the letters and then set them in place to have correct spacing for the letters. It takes a little for liquid glue to dry on the alcohol backgrounds so I placed a few stamping block on top and let it sit overnight. The next morning I carefully removed the negative die cut.
I decided to add a mat of the green cardstock behind the alcohol ink panel and cut it using the largest Matinee Rectangle. The panel was then adhered to a top folding cardbase.
