I had this beautiful piece of green alcohol ink background setting on my craft desk and wanted to use it on a card. I cut it down with a stitched rectangle and adhered it to a top folding A2 cardbase with dotliner adhesive.
There is gold gilded alloy in the background and I played around with a couple of leaves before finally settling on the etched leaves from Simon Says Stamp, cutting them from gold mirror cardstock.
I wanted to add flowers to the leaves, but I didn't want them to detracts from the background so I decided to stamp them on vellum with VersaMark Ink and heat emboss them gold so they would look good with the leaves. They were cut out using the coordinating dies. I first ran them through my Xyron Sticker Maker and adhered them where I wanted, and while they were pretty I just didn't like the way they looked. So I stamped and die cut them again. This time I pulled out clear foam and added it to the center of the flowers and behind the areas were there were embossed strips and adhered them over the previously adhered flowers and loved the dimension and visual interest it gave to the flowers. Just the look I was going for.
I just couldn't find a place to stamp or adhered a sentiment that wouldn't detract from the beautiful background and floral arrangement, so I didn't add one. The sentiment will be one the inside only.
