I created a red and gold, with touched of purple alcohol ink background for my granddaughter's birthday card. I had a lot leftover since it was a full 8-1/2" x 11" sheet. I love the vibrancy of alcohol inks. I was able to create seven more beautiful cards using this background paper.
This card uses an entire panel of the alcohol ink background that was cut down using a stitched rectangle die. The chunky word "HAPPY" was cut from the center, and then again from gold mirror cardstock. It was cut again two times from red cardstock.
The alcohol panel was adhered to a landscape A2 cardbase with dotliner adhesive. The gold mirror outline was adhered into the opening of the word in the alcohol panel with liquid glue. The layers of the letters were adhered together with liquid glue and then placed in the negative space with the same glue. The center of the letters also has a gold outline. They were adhered with liquid glue into the negative space of the letters. The centers of the letters were adhered to the red pieces with liquid glue and then adhered in place.
The secondary sentiment was stamped onto a scrap of red cardstock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed gold. It was cut down with a label die and adhered below the word "HAPPY" with two layers of red cardstock.
For added visual interest an outline balloon was cut from gold mirror cardstock and the center from a scrap of alcohol ink background and two more time from red cardstock and adhered in place with liquid glue.
