Purple Anemone Thinking of You

I saw Amy Rasavy create a card last week where she used a half sheet of colored cardstock cut on an angle and added her flowers along the line. I liked the design and decided to use it for the Thinking of You cards I'm making for the youth auction at our church.

Since I am creating two separate packets, one cool colors and one warm colors, I decided to use purples for the cool. I pulled out Gina K. Designs Lovely Lavender and Wild Lilac cardstock. I cut the half sheet from the darker cardstock and dry embossed it to add some visual interest. I then ran a ink cube of dark purple ink over the surface to bring out the design. Low loft foam tape was added to the back of the panel, which was adhered to a top folding cardbase by removing the backing paper on the foam.

The flowers were cut from the lighter purple cardstock and then ink blended with three different colors of purple, adding beautiful dimension and visual interest to the petals on the flowers. The flower center was cut from a scrape yellow and ink blended, however, the very center was cut from gold mirror cardstock. I really liked the combination. The leaves were cut from green cardstock and ink blended as well.

The layers of the flowers were adhered together with liquid glue. The leaves and flowers were then adhered where the purple and white cardstock intersected with liquid glue and foam tape.

The sentiment had been previously hot foiled. It was adhered with low loft foam tape and the card was done.
