A sweet couple at church is celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary this Friday. James is 85 and Amalia is 83. They started a little later than Michael and I. We will celebrate out 50th next May. A couple marriage is such a blessing. To have someone also supporting and loving you each and every day is a joy that cannot be expressed. We believe that marriage can be for time and all eternity. I look forward to that with Michael and I'm sure James and Amalia do the same. This card is for them.
I love this beautiful stamp from Simon Says Stamp, but it is huge and really can't be placed on a regular A2 card and keep the entire image, so I decided to create a mini slimline card. I adjusted the size to fit the image and the sentiment. It is 7" x 3 1/2" which means you need to create your own envelope, but the WeR Memory Keepers 1-2-3 Board makes that easy. I like to stamp the same image on the envelop. It too was heat embossed gold.
I first stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored it with Copic Markers. When coloring was complete I stamped it again with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it gold. Embossing can be hard on your Copic nibs and this two step method protects them. The coordinating die was used to cut out the image and Simon Says Stamp Big Mama Foam Tape was added to the back to add dimension.
I wanted some visual interest behind the image and dry embossed the front of the cardbase with the Stampin' Up Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. The focal image was then adhered in place by removing the backing paper on the foam tape.
The sentiment was cut from gold mirror cardstock and Darice Sticky Back Foam. The two were adhered together by removing the backing paper on the foam. I find this an easy way to add dimension to die cut words. Since the top of the "c" and the "o" overlapped the flowers I cut away that portion of the foam so that it was adhere in place flat.
The inside of the card has a gold die cut 50, with a stamped years underneath. It also has the sentiment from Hero Arts Togetherness Flower Bouquet that says, "Together is a wonderful place to be." I agree!
